SQL Server Distributed Availability Groups is a type of Availability Group that spans two separate Availability Groups across two different Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) clusters.

Distributed Availability Groups are used to provide an extra level of high availability, disaster recovery and scale-out.

Distributed availability groups are available starting with SQL Server 2016.
